- 684-bed General Hospital with an Emergency Department functioning round the clock serving nearly 4 lakh patients annually,
- A Community Health Service Programme serving some 40 remote villages,
- Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences for research purposes.
Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan started its journey way back in early thirties as a small maternity & child care centre. Over the years it has developed into a general hospital of charitable character with 684-beds. We provide quality medical services at heavily subsidized rates in general and complete or partial free treatment to the needy and deserving with the motto of “Service to Man is Service to God.”
We have a Community Health Service (Mobile Unit) and a General Emergency Department, which are extending treatment to the poor villagers and those attending Emergency Department respectively completely free of cost.
During the Centenary Year of Swami Vivekananda's Birth Anniversary in 1963, Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences, the Postgraduate Medical Education and Research wing of this Pratishthan came into being. This institute is devoted to advanced medical research works besides postgraduate teaching in medicine, the benefit of which ultimately percolates to the marginalized section of the society.
We hope you will appreciate that running of such kind of service activities involves huge expenditure and it will not be possible to keep this hospital running smoothly unless we get adequate financial support from pious-hearted and generous persons and organizations like you.
May we now appeal to you kindly to consider making a donation for the Permanent Fund of this Pratishthan :-
i) For maintenance of its: (a) Hospital Services to enable us to continue to serve the suffering and economicallyweaker section of the society as far as possible; and (b) Community Health Services for providing free mobile medical health services covering about 40 backward villages and a semi urban area in different Districts of West Bengal. Your generous assistance will be a source of inspiration to us. All donations for these purposes are exempt from Income Tax u/s 80G of the I.T. Act, 1961. Cheques may kindly be drawn in favour of “Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan” payable at Kolkata.
ii)Also we appeal for donations for research purposes which comes u/s 35(1)(ii) of I.T. Act, 1961 providing 100% exemption facility. Cheques for this purpose may kindly be drawn in favour of “Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan A/c VIMS” payable at Kolkata.
iii)At present we also need financial support from our well-wishers and charitable minded persons and organizations to meet the special need due to the corona virus pandemic. Due to the spread of the virus followed by the lockdown declared by the Government, the number of patients coming to the hospital was very low. While the revenue collection of the hospital from services to the patients came down to almost floor-level, our establishment cost remained same as before and also increased further as we had to buy various equipments for protection of doctors, nurses and other health care providers who were directly attending to the patients and also to maintaining all hospital services.
